Simultaneously calm and savage
The bay is calm and these swans appear at home on the lake-like water. Beautiful and graceful they glide effortlessly ... like lovers on a romantic beach escape. A surreal sight if not slightly voyeuristic if we anthropomorphise them.
The water is a mirror. Narcissus would definitely have drowned here.
This courtyard is from the 12th Century and its symmetry was gloriously calming. Fortunately the clear blue skies captured the illusion of a mirror.
She's a sweet nightmare
Winter allows the trees to flaunt their intricate branches. Against grey skies and fog, a lone parakeet appears to huddle.
The moon was visible in the middle of the day, and it had an eerie quality.
